Quotes, Estimates & Contract Formation

3. Quotes and estimates

  • All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
  • Quotes are based on the information you provide during our survey or consultation.
  • If the scope of work changes, we reserve the right to adjust the quote accordingly.
  • Quotes are not binding until a formal contract is signed by both parties.
  • Quotes include VAT where applicable (standard rate or reduced rate as per government regulations).

4. Contract formation

A contract between you and LAMTANS Engineering Ltd is only formed when:

  • You accept our written quotation.
  • You sign the contract (electronically or physically).
  • The contract is countersigned by LAMTANS Engineering Ltd.
Grant-funded work: for grant-funded projects, the contract may also be subject to approval from the relevant scheme administrator (e.g. ECO4, the Warm Homes Plan or the Boiler Upgrade Scheme).
Work commencement: no work will commence until a formal contract has been fully agreed and signed by all parties.

Section 5

Pricing and Payment

All pricing and payment arrangements are confirmed within your individual contract with LAMTANS Engineering Ltd. Payments are structured based on project scope, materials and agreed milestones.

Payment TypeTiming
DepositAn agreed percentage (confirmed in your contract) to secure materials and schedule your start date
Stage paymentsAt agreed milestones (e.g. completion of insulation, first fix, second fix)
Final paymentOn completion and your sign-off

For grant-funded work

  • ECO4 / Warm Homes Plan: where eligible, the grant covers the full or partial cost of approved measures, subject to scheme approval and eligibility criteria.
  • Boiler Upgrade Scheme: the grant is applied as an upfront discount from the total installation cost; you pay the remaining balance after grant deduction.
  • Private top-up works: if additional measures are requested that are not covered by the grant, pricing will be agreed in advance and confirmed in writing before work begins.
VAT and payment terms: all prices include VAT where applicable, in accordance with UK tax regulations. Late payments may incur interest as outlined in your contract — for applicable commercial contracts this is typically calculated at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate under UK late-payment legislation. Work will only proceed once agreed payment conditions have been met.
